A Rússia, fornecedora essencial de fertilizantes, mais que dobrou suas exportações para o Brasil no ano passado. De fato, as compras externas brasileiras de produtos russos aumentaram 107,4% em 2021 em relação ao ano anterior. Commodities agrícolas e proteína animal dominaram as exportações brasileiras para a Rússia. A soja foi a exportação mais popular em 2021, respondendo por 22% do total exportado, seguida pela carne de aves (11%), café não torrado (8,4%), açúcar (8,4%), amendoim (8,2%) e outras carnes (7,3%). %).
Desde 1997 (com exceção de 2000), o comércio bilateral com a Rússia vinha operando em superávit para o Brasil até 2017.
